A modern, customizable Reaper theme with automatic track coloring

Designed by Gwen Terrien in the style of the nvk.tools scripts, the theme adds track FX, transport, and channel output buttons, and a settings script for its colors, fonts, and panels. A second script colors your tracks by folder.

  1. Track FX button

    FX is assigned to ReaEQ, shown embedded in the track panel.

  2. Track colors

    Tracks and their items are colored by the Track Colors script, from the folder structure.

  3. Transport

    Time display, automation mode, and play controls.

  4. Mixer

    Mixer strips with FX buttons, colored to match their tracks.

  5. Settings

    nvk_THEME - Settings, open on the Track Colors section.

How it works

  1. Select the theme

    After installing through ReaPack, choose the nvk_THEME version that matches your system theme in Options > Themes.

  2. Configure it

    Run nvk_THEME - Settings, or click the cog in the bottom right corner of the transport, and set up colors, panels, and buttons.

  3. Color your tracks

    Run nvk_THEME - Track Colors - Apply - Auto. Add it to a toolbar or as a startup item, or put the Manual version on a hotkey.

Features

  • Versions to match your system theme

    Pick the version that matches your system theme in Options > Themes. Your settings carry over when you switch between them.

  • Track colors by folder

    Parent tracks get distinct colors and child tracks take coordinated colors from their parent, alternating between folders at any nesting depth.

  • Track FX buttons

    Assign your own plug-ins to the FX buttons in the track panel and mixer. A button adds the plug-in if the track doesn't have it, and toggles its window if it does.

  • Transport buttons

    Extra transport buttons open the project bay, rename, render, and subprojects, turn track colors on and off, and switch to the next or previous theme.

  • Channel output buttons

    Switch the master track between stereo, quad, and surround outputs with one click.

  • 100%, 150%, and 200% layouts

    HiDPI layouts keep the theme sharp on high-resolution monitors.

Settings

nvk_THEME - Settings configures the whole theme. Open the sections you need.

Presets
Save your settings as presets in the tabs at the top, such as one for a 1080p screen and one for 4K.
Color and Font
The theme's colors and font sizes.
Panels
Envelope Panel, Master Mixer Panel, Master Track Panel, Mixer Panel, Track Panel, and Transport each set up that part of Reaper.
Track Colors
Color sets, which tracks get colored, excluded words, child track brightness and gradients, and colors for tracks by name.
Track FX Buttons
Search for a plug-in and click it to assign it. ReaEQ and ReaComp are the defaults.
Reset
Reset to default restores every setting. Right-click a slider to reset just that value.

FAQ

Can I try it before buying?

Yes. The script includes a 14-day trial with no card required. Install it by following the install guide, then run it in Reaper. When the license prompt appears, leave the field blank and click OK.

Which versions of Reaper and which systems are supported?

Reaper 7 or later on macOS and Windows.

What do I need before installing?

Reaper, ReaPack, the SWS/S&M Extension, ReaImGui, and the js_ReaScript API. The theme and its scripts install through ReaPack; the install guide walks through every step.

Can I use my license on more than one computer?

Yes. Each seat may be activated on up to four computers at a time, all used by the same person.

Can I buy licenses for a team?
